The ASMedia ASM1064 is a SATA host controller (AHCI) with an upstream PCIe Gen3 x1 interface and four downstream SATA Gen3 ports. It is a low-latency, low-cost, and low-power AHCI controller that supports a variety of high-speed I/O systems, including servers, high-capacity storage systems, and surveillance platforms.

The ASM1064 offers a PCIe Gen3 x1 interface to an 8-port non-RAID SATA III 6Gbps card, allowing users to add eight SATA III ports to desktop PCs, servers, and NAS systems for storage expansion or AHCI boot use. With a total bandwidth of 8Gbps, each SATA 3.0 port can achieve a maximum speed of 6Gbps for AHCI boot and storage.
